AdHavoc Campaign Manager is not an application per se, but a way to use an XML file to keep track of all information for a RPG campaign. You can then use the ToHTML tool to create a website that displays all the information nicely, and will even filter out parts so that there are versions for specific players.
Advantages
- You can keep all information about your campaign in one file.
- You can automatically create nice websites for each player, which can quickly be updated with new information.
Disadvantages
- An XML file is not the best resource for creative writing. (Personally, I usually use a nice word processor, copy the results into the XML, and then tweak it to get proper formatting.)
- A passing knowledge of HTML and XML is needed to make the most use of the tool. Knowing XSLT wouldn’t hurt either.
